Partial and Full Dentures in Windermere, Edmonton
There are several reasons why a patient may be missing teeth. Whether you’ve been in an accident, lost teeth due to poor oral hygiene, or simply aged, our dentists at Viva Dental Wellness are here to help. While most people may not mind having gaps in their smile, missing teeth can greatly affect your oral health. Our dentists near you have multiple options for new and existing patients to meet their cosmetic dentistry needs.
Partials and full dentures near you are among the most common services that can help with missing teeth. It’s not uncommon for the public to associate the term “dentures” with older individuals, but that’s simply not reality. Patients of all ages can get the benefit of partial and full dentures.
What’s the Denture process?
Our dentists in Windermere, Edmonton, want you to know how the denture process works to give you an idea of what you can expect. The entire process will take between two and three months. Partial dentures take a bit less time because they’re less complex to create.
At first, you’ll meet with our dentists at Viva Dental Wellness to assess your current oral health. They’ll then fit your teeth and make a mold to be sent off to a third party.
As soon as the dentist receives your dentures back, we’ll invite you to come in for a fitting to ensure they’re comfortable and make any adjustments as needed.
What Are Partial Dentures?
If you still have plenty of fully functioning teeth, our dentists may suggest partial dentures in Edmonton. Partial dentures consist of a thin flesh-colored plate with prosthetic teeth attached to the base. Partials are designed to custom-fit each patient to allow for comfort, a natural look, and full functionality. Partial dentures should be removed and should not be worn overnight.
What Are Full Dentures?
Viva Dental Wellness has full dentures available for those missing several teeth on the top or bottom half of the mouth. For example, if you’re missing seven teeth on the top half of your mouth and none on the bottom half, getting full dentures is more beneficial. Our dentists will create custom-made removable dentures. Our full dentures are made from either acrylic or plastic and will blend in with the rest of your mouth. They’re designed to fit comfortably and function as natural teeth would.
